This beautiful raised-relief wall map of lovely Blue Mountain Lake in New York’s Adirondack Mountains focuses on the lake’s fascinating underwater topography, its rim of surrounding hills and tributaries, and its islands.
Both the lake bathymetry and surrounding topography are shown in precise 3d detail. The effects of glacial action are revealed, including deep underwater northeast to southwest grooves caused by the glaciers’ advance and scores of enormous boulders left on their retreat.
Blue Mountain Lake sits at the crest of one of North America’s great divides- the split between the St. Lawrence and Hudson Rivers. The divide is accurately mapped, and locator maps show the north and south paths water takes to the sea as well as how the lake nestles among nearby mountain ranges.
Not only Blue Mountain Lake enthusiasts and cartophiles love this handsome map; its unique underwater revelations will enchant geologists and limnologists from around the world.
Deciding Between Framed or Unframed
This map is available in two forms: poster-style, convenient for pinning to a wall or bulletin board, or fully framed and ready to be displayed as art. We carefully trim, mount, and frame each map to ensure a perfect fit in a hand-assembled frame crafted of either solid oak or black anodized aluminum.
If you intend to showcase the map as decor, we encourage you to order a framed version up front. Our framed map prices are well below those of a typical framing shop, but we’re not able to provide frames separately for maps that have already been shipped.
If you’d rather frame the map yourself, please read our Framing a Summit Map PDF for instructions and important DYI framing tips.
Unframed maps usually ship via UPS Ground 5-7 business days from order date; framed maps may take an additional 5 business days. If your need is more immediate, call us at 240-203-8476 and we’ll see what we can do.
